Title: Tests of Lorentz Invariance Violations with Gamma-ray Observations of Cosmic Sources.

Abstract:
It is well known that the description of nature with the standard model of particle physics and general relativity is incomplete. Quite possibly, the models are only the low-energy limit of a unified theory of quantum gravity that holds at center of momentum energies close to the Planck energy.
In this talk, I discuss quantitative constraints on Lorentz Invariance violating extensions of the standard model derived from X-ray and gamma-ray observations of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGNs) and Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs).
The analysis is based on the theoretical framework developed by Colladay & Kosteleck? (1997) and Kosteleck? and Mewes (2009). After presenting limits derived from time of flight measurements with the Fermi LAT, H.E.S.S., and VERITAS gamma-ray telescopes, I discuss the sensitivity of similar studies performed with hard X-ray and gamma-ray polarimeters
